Yeah this is the first fighting game I'm actually looking forward to in a very long time, so the delay hurts a bit. Still for the best - everything else about this game is of a quality we've really not seen in the genre before so anything they can do to make sure it's not held back by something as silly as that lobby system will be good in the long run.

Holy crap, that's quite a delay. The feedback on the lobbies must have been (rightfully) overwhelming. Glad they're taking it back to the drawing board, since the rest of the game is incredible but really marred by how bad those were.

On one hand I'm absolutely thrilled that I held on to my 100 shares of AMC but also I'm a fool and bought at $14 so this latest development is probably going to at absolute best allow me to exit unscathed with maybe a little extra.

I was really surprised how much fun I had with the beta. I found myself thinking about all the crazy things I could try later even when not playing the game. Pretty wild considering I was feeling like I'd grown apart from fighting games recently. This one trims just enough of the fat from Guilty Gear while generally being more neutral-focused and freeform, which are both things I've found I appreciate enormously with how little patience I have for grinding "optimal" combos in other anime fighters.

I don't think I'll ever get sick of Faust's victory animation. His animations in general are so fantastic - but then, so are everyone else's.

The lobby system is truly wretched but this game seems like a lot of fun. Definitely much simpler than former Guilty Gear games but honestly I don't have the patience to play games that batshit insane anymore.

I adore Splatoon's style and overall aesthetic but I've bounced right off of those games even after four earnest attempts to get into them. The gameplay itself is even pretty darn fun but Nintendo's online experience is just so darn miserable to deal with and the entire game is based around that.

That XC2 is still somehow good with how brain-meltingly, bafflingly stupid the decision to dole out blades through a gacha system was is a testament to how solid everything else really is.

Ninja Gaiden trilogy and Samurai Warriors 5 both confirmed for other platforms and PC. Not particularly surprising but still nice since the Switch looked like it was about to catch fire during that Samurai Warriors trailer, lol

Somehow Project Triangle Strategy ended up being easily the most exciting thing in that show. Not sure it really lived up to what it had to after nothing huge since 2019, but it's nice to actually be getting announcements again at least.

Skyward Sword looks so good at 60 fps, and having played it recently, the original's controls feel super jank today. This is a very welcome update.

Octopath Tactics looks legit fantastic, I'm really surprised. Octopath Traveler's big shortcomings were that it needed slightly smarter gameplay and significantly better worldbuilding + connections in its storytelling, and this game looks to deliver big time on both.

I'm honestly not sure. If you care at all about story, this one seems to be a relatively loosely connected prequel thus far but supposedly the connections get stronger later on.

Gameplay wise I can safely say that playing 1 after 2 would really suck. I'm also not sure how much my experience with 2 thus far has been thanks to benefitting from an entire game of learning the combat. So far 2 feels like a much easier game to me but that may just be because I already know how to play Nioh and only had to wrap my head around the new mechanics and weapons. Nioh has IMO the best combat of any Souls-like but you really have to learn its systems to get anywhere.

Would heartily recommend it to anyone who liked the original. I'm about 13 hours in and this is as clean of a case of a "more and better" sequel as I've ever seen. All the new Yokai mechanics are especially a blast to play around with. (It basically has an equivalent of the Aria of Sorrow soul system so you can gain and use the powers of the Yokai you kill, and there's a new counter system for each enemy's most deadly attacks that immensely improves the already excellent flow of combat.)

Biggest thing with 505 Games is both Bloodstained and Indivisible had absolute dumpster fire launches on Switch. But if I recall, Eiyuden wasn't going to launch on Switch anyway, right? Should be fine, then.

Yeah, this makes it much easier to take that I'll likely be waiting ~a year for them to come to Steam. Charging $170 for the contents of the All-in-One collection, which can currently be had for $30, is pretty laughable. (Though I suppose in complete fairness, I don't believe All-in-One includes Re Mind.)

Somewhat notably, this is the first really big PC platform exclusivity deal to come from a Japanese publisher that I can think of. (Keeping in mind that Shenmue 3 was published by Deep Silver.)

I'm really growing tired of this platform-within-a-platform war, but it's far more important that the games are on PC at all, so this is great!

Isn't the whole point of the prosthetic arm reveal in MGS4 (coupled with Ocelot's last words) supposed to be that Ocelot was just pretending to be Liquid throughout the whole game so his master plan against the Patriots went off without a hitch? He was definitely legit possessed in MGS2 but it seems like after that he decided to use it to his advantage even after he'd secretly already dealt with it.

Kiwami 1 is handily my least favorite game outside of the original 1. Just feels like a cheap expansion to 0 gameplay-wise and content-wise is way too hampered by its rigid following of the original. Kiwami 2 is better by leaps and bounds, as are 3-5 though you'll feel the age of the latter games coming off of Kiwami 2 being your first experience with the new engine.

DoorDash at the very least is definitely way more expensive since the pandemic started. Like, doubling the bill expensive in my experience. Helps a lot to order directly from the restaurant if they deliver, which many more do now even if it's just ordering a DoorDash on their end.

I primarily play on PC so my concept of generations has almost completely eroded, but The Medium struck me as something that last gen almost certainly wouldn't be able to handle. It doesn't necessarily have the most amazing graphics but the dual rendering alone, never mind ray tracing, definitely came across as something that wouldn't have been possible without current hardware.

Glad to see Judgment coming to more platforms, but no PC version hurts. I love that game dearly and would love to replay it with all the bells and whistles. Gotta wonder if there's some sort of Stadia deal in place and it'll get a PC release further down the line. Would kinda make sense for them to not want to clutter the schedule with Y6's release next month.

Just beat it! Very cool experience that makes me want to go back and check out some of Bloober's older games. From what I gather Observer is like an entire game based around the concept of the Thomas sections, which sounds fantastic to me.

Yeah there are a ton of great indie/AA games that fly under the radar on a daily basis with little to no media coverage or buzz in public forums. Bloober is juuust big enough to get some attention, but most of the awareness of this game is probably because it's on Game Pass at this point.
